Born in 2000 from the meeting of Benjamin Belot (bassist / singer of PENUMBRA) and Gilles Moinet (guitarist of THE OLD DEAD TREE), Lux Incerta is one of the oldest French Doom metal bands.
The name Lux Incerta comes from a Latin expression that symbolizes the ultimate moment when light is about to lose its battle against darkness. This concept is the core of the artistic spirit of the band, for which the battle between light and darkness, good and evil, pain and despair is the main inspiration.
Lux Incerta is a worthy heir of the 90's British Doom metal, and mainly MY DYING BRIDE, PARADISE LOST and ANATHEMA.
September 2000, creation of Lux Incerta.
2003, with the help of Jean Jacques Moréac (bassist of MISANTHROPE), the band released its first eponymous EP. Feedbacks are excellent, which encourages Lux Incerta to work on his first album.
2007, After a few concerts, including an opening act for MY DYING BRIDE at La Locomotive (Paris), the band recorded its first album "A Decade of Dusk" (2012).
2012, Release of "A Decade of Dusk". The opening track, 'Shelter', is co-written and performed with Manuel Munoz (singer / guitarist of THE OLD DEAD TREE).
2018, LUX INCERTA returns under a new line-up. New dates, participation in a tribute album to CATHEDRAL, as well as the recording of a new EP, make part of the band's projects for 2019...
